Tom Rochon (right) announced Thursday that he will retire as president of Ithaca College on July 1, 2017. Student and faculty leaders have been pushing for Rochon's ouster, saying that the administration has been slow and inadequate in responding to racial concerns on campus. Rochon's Ithaca presidency started in 2008 and he has, to date, resisted calls from critics that he should leave.
