Makau W. Mutua announced his resignation as dean of the law school of the State University of New York at Buffalo last week, after seven years in the position, The Buffalo News reported. While supporters of Matua point to fund-raising success and say that he revitalized the law school, many faculty critics say that he ignored their concerns as enrollment dropped, and that he lied in a legal dispute over the dismissal of a faculty member (a charge Matua denies).
