U. of Arizona Bans Fraternity After Inquiry Into Death

The University of Arizona on Monday informed a fraternity that it has lost recognition, months after a member of the Greek organization died after a fall from a roof of a residence hall, The Arizona Republic reported. University officials had placed Phi Gamma Delta on interim suspension in July while they investigated a series of violations such as underage drinking and hazing. The fraternity, known as FIJI, was already on probation for alcohol violations at the time of the April death of Michael Evan Anderson, a 19-year-old freshman.
